Booking a Nile cruise with us is a conversation, not a checkout. Here is what happens from your first message to the morning you step off the ship.
Send your dates, how many are travelling, and anything you already know you want: three nights or four, a particular ship, a cabin with a balcony. WhatsApp is the fastest way; the enquiry form on any ship page works just as well. We reply within one working day.
You receive an itinerary and a price in US dollars, per person, based on two people sharing a cabin. If more than one ship fits your dates we say which one we would choose and why. Nothing is booked yet and nothing is charged.
When you are happy, accept the quote in writing and pay a 25 percent deposit by bank transfer or card. We then send a written confirmation with the ship, cabin category, itinerary, dates and total price. From that moment the price is fixed.
We send your final itinerary with pick-up times and the ship’s contact details. Tell us about dietary needs, reduced mobility, and children’s dates of birth so the ship knows in advance. Passports and visas are your side of things; check the requirements for your nationality well before you fly.
Our representative meets you at the airport, or at your hotel, and drives you to the ship in a private air-conditioned car. Landing before 10 am gives you the whole afternoon. The remaining 75 percent is paid on this first day, at a time that suits you, in cash, by transfer or by card. Cash is the simplest; card payments carry a 3 percent surcharge.
Days start early, around 06:30, so the temples are cool and quiet. The ship sails by early afternoon, and dinner is at 19:30 in winter and 20:00 in summer. A licensed Egyptologist travels with you and runs every visit. Tipping is ordinary courtesy in Egypt and part of what people in tourism live on; guideline amounts are on your itinerary and we are happy to talk it through.
Dates can be moved free of charge more than 30 days before sailing, subject to availability. Cancellation is free 60 days or more before departure, then on a sliding scale set out in our terms. If a ship is withdrawn by its owner after you have booked, we move you to a ship of the same category at no extra cost, or refund everything you have paid.
Under 6 travel free when sharing the parents’ cabin, one child per cabin. Ages 6 to 11 pay half the adult rate; 12 and over pay the full rate. Details in our terms.
A single supplement applies and is stated in your quote. Suites and cabin upgrades are quoted on request, once we know the ship and the date.
Not a condition of booking, but we strongly recommend a policy that covers medical treatment, cancellation and your belongings. We do not provide insurance of any kind.
